Searching for the thrill

Have you ever been to Las Vegas? What about Pullman, WA, home of the Cougs? Take Vegas and their foreigners who come to visit, add Pullman's winter weather and dedicated college students and boom- you have Whistler. I had never been to Whistler but everyone I talked to before going word for word would say "You have to go, it is something you do not want to miss out on". It was definitely something I had been missing out on. So I rallied up a crew and we began our journey. Stayed three, long, lively nights and went from pub to club, to pub to club, to club to club... and so on. After long nights and intriguing talks with strangers from Norway to Australia I just want to say thank you Dr. King Jr., for giving me a weekend and a experience of a life time.

These are just a few pictures from the social aspect. I wish I would have taken more of the inside of clubs that we went to but I was too busy living than being the snappy happy person I get when I am out and about with a few cocktails engulfed. Whistler is not only just a party town though; its main attraction is Blackcomb and Whistler Mountain, waiting in the winter time for skiers and snowboarders. I did not get a chance to go to the very top of Blackcomb but from the parts that I did snowboard down, my god it was beautiful! BEST Mountain I have ever been on for snowboarding by far! Next time I visit Whistler though it will not be a 'party' vacation but definitely a binge boarding trip along with eating as much as I can.

Wish I would have gone to the top, but I will save that for another trip. If you do make your way down to Whistler sometime in the near future and are looking for some good eats I suggest you go to Splitz. They have the BEST burgers in town. A little on the expensive side buut you build your own burger from scratch and have over 20 toppings to choose from, totally worth it. Looking for breakfast? Crepe Montagne. Sooo goood! Great hang over cure and the restaurant is a cute, little European getup. Last but not least out of my food recommendations is Fat Tony's Pizza, and no it's not for the pizza. If you like Pita pit you will loveeee the kababs they have there! They are open late too, so after all the bars close, it is the perfect place for your late night munchies!

That is it for now. My next trip will be CABO! Taking six days away from reality and replacing it with paradise with some friends from school. I cannot wait to lay out on the beach and get into the ocean! We have so much planned for this trip so I will have a ton to share! March cannot come any sooner . . .

I have decided to start out with travels I have gone in my past. So here a few pictures from 2008-2011. It is a little long, just a warning. . Once I catch up with all my school work I will put some more time into my last travel to Whistler, BC Canada.

Valencia, California
Summer after high school graduation, I went and visited a long-time friend in Valencia, California. This was my first time going to California. We went to Venice beach that has beautiful sand. It was a work out just to get to the water to dip your toes into the ocean. The first three photos are from the festival Drum Circle. Venice beach is a beautiful place and has a wonderful atmosphere that is so welcoming. We didn’t stay all night for the Drum Circle’s festivities but I wouldn’t mind going back and attending again.

Next stop Stuttgart, Germany & Paris, France

From being 75% German, 75% of my travels have been to Germany. It is a place I admire and I will always want to return to. So simple and delicate and everyone is overly friendly. The first couple pictures are from Downtown Stuttgart.

These next ones are from a visit to the Neushwanstien castle in the Bavarian Alps near Munich, Germany. You may be familiar of it; it is the castle from Walt Disney's "Sleeping Beauty". It was built for King Ludwig II in 1869 and was left unfinished in 1886 due to his death. The hill was a killer to walk up but worth it in the end. Unfortunately they would not let you take any pictures on the inside so here are a few from the outside

The last ones are of a place unknown where my cousins took us. It was similar to a museum outside with rides for children along with multiple ... I want to call them mini castles.

Paris, France

Paris was breathtaking. I was led around by two, crazy, elderly people who gave me an odd experience but I’ll save that story for another time.

I don't have much else to say on Paris other than that I will go back.

Cancun, Mexico

A spontaneous Spring Break trip with two friends led a week of.. well, it is Mexico.

I have never been in water so clear, an environment where it is covered in young adults from all over the world, and beaches on beaches on beaches . . . in my life. Cancun was probably one of the best vacations that I had due to it being a in-the-moment decision. My next trip to Mexico will be Cabo San Lucas this upcoming spring and I am sure it is going to be a trip to remember, just like Cancun.

San Diego, California

Stayed at a good friend's sorority at SDSU for Halloween 2010 and I do not know if I will ever top a Halloween because that weekend was alluring. If I had all the money in the world, I would definitely move to Pacific Beach and live there for a good year or two.
